About Meagan
I’ve been in private practice since 2014 after 9 years as a school social worker. While I’m currently practicing in the Golden, CO, I started my practice in Madison, WI.
The biggest evolution to my practice is the focus on healing through the body. I am a Somatic Experiencing® Practitioner and I work with clients to help them heal their personal traumas.
After having children, I became extremely interested in working with Moms, Dads and Partners during pregnancy, postpartum and early parenting. My approach to parenting and relationships is attachment based and echoes my ongoing training in these areas. Parental health is essential in fostering healthy attachment between child and parent, and I eagerly work with clients to heal their own attachment traumas in efforts to build healthy attachment relationships with their own children.
therapy Mission
I believe that therapy can be helpful throughout many transitions, challenges and life events. Whether you're seeking therapy for the first time or returning to therapy, I believe that you have the capacity to make the changes you seek in life and I welcome the opportunity to work with you to help facilitate change. My approach is mind-body focused, attachment centered, informed by Somatic Experiencing®, spiritual and rooted in the belief that the answers to your healing are within you. Together we will invite the body to settle, establish new neurological patterns, rest into the support of the universe and source to illuminate the path ahead, and build capacity to open to our suffering and cherish it as a gift. I am most comfortable sitting in the experience of multiple things being true at once, noticing the light and the dark, and surrendering to the lessons of this life’s journey. Through the safety of our relationship, we can begin to explore the depths of your capacities and enhance your joie de vivre.
I graduated from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign with a master’s degree in social work. I have 9 years of experience working as a school social worker and 10 years working in private practice as a clinical therapist. This journey has been fulfilling, rewarding and challenging. It is truly my life’s purpose to be with people on their life journey.
Outside of my social work practice I enjoy spending time with friends and family, running, hiking, yoga, reading, photography (taking pictures with my iPhone!) and finding new ways to make my daughters laugh.
