About Meagan
I’ve been in private practice since 2014, following nine years as a school social worker. While I started my practice in Madison, WI, I now work in Golden, CO.
Over the years, my work has evolved to focus on healing through the body. As a Somatic Experiencing® Practitioner, I help clients process and heal personal trauma by working with their nervous systems.
Becoming a parent deepened my passion for supporting families through pregnancy, postpartum, and early parenting. My approach to parenting and relationships is rooted in attachment theory, reflecting my ongoing training in these areas. I believe a parent's well-being is essential for fostering secure attachment, and I work closely with clients to heal their own attachment wounds so they can build strong, healthy relationships with their children.
therapy Mission
I believe therapy can be a powerful support through life’s transitions, challenges, and unexpected turns. Whether you’re seeking therapy for the first time or returning, I trust in your ability to create meaningful change, and I’m honored to help facilitate that process.
My approach is mind-body focused, attachment-centered, and deeply informed by Somatic Experiencing®. It is also spiritual at its core, grounded in the belief that the answers to your healing already exist within you. Together, we will invite the body to settle, establish new neurological patterns, and lean into the support of the universe and source to illuminate the path ahead. We'll build the capacity to hold both suffering and joy—recognizing pain as a teacher and a gift. I’m most comfortable sitting in the complexity of life, where light and dark coexist, and surrendering to the lessons that unfold along the way. Through the safety of our therapeutic relationship, we can explore your full capacities and nurture your sense of joy and aliveness.
I earned my master’s degree in social work from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign. My career has included nine years as a school social worker and over a decade in private practice as a clinical therapist. This work has been deeply fulfilling, rewarding, and at times, challenging—but I know it is my life’s purpose to walk alongside others on their journeys.
Outside of my practice, I love spending time with friends and family, running, hiking, practicing yoga, reading, and capturing moments through iPhone photography. Most of all, I cherish finding new ways to make my children laugh.

““When I came to Meagan, I was struggling both personally and professionally. She truly tailors our sessions to meet my needs. The guidance she offers is the perfect combination of encouraging yet respectful if I want to make a change that may take some time. I always feel supported and motivated when I leave our sessions. I have had much more meaningful conversations with my significant other as a result of my work with Meagan. I also have a new perspective on my professional trajectory. Most importantly, I have a lighter and more positive outlook on life. ””
